So I Bought A Few Books - Iconic Font Project, Pt.5
A Calligraphy Book Haul
The First of Many Book Hauls on This Blog
The books from my recent Amazon order have officially arrived. (Yes, all five of them, and they are GLORIOUS.)
Five might seem like a lot, but it’s never wise to put all your eggs in one basket, ESPECIALLY with regard to research.
I’m so happy with the books I chose. Each one of them feels like a little gem of inspiration, and they each have their own unique tidbits of knowledge to share. (*These unique tidbits are what I love most about books.)
As an example, two books, though they may be about the same subject, can, (and often do,) differ DRASTICALLY in the information they contain. This is why I am an avid reader, and STRONG BELIEVER in collecting as many books as it is humanly possible to do. In fact, I advocate that if you are going to collect any one type of object in this world, let it be BOOKS, but I digress.
Below is a list of what I was able to get my hands on, in case you are interested.

Next Steps…
A Bit of *Light Reading
Now that the books have all arrived, it’s time to hunker down at my desk for the day, and put in my due diligence studying calligraphy techniques and forms. There is quite a bit to absorb here.
Final Thoughts
Unless I manage to think up any other necessary first steps, the next post should mark the true beginning of this project — the actual work of designing my letters. I’m a little daunted by the idea, but very much looking forward to that.
